Politician recognise our success!  We must be doing well if the talk is all about taxing curries, butter and other fatty foods to curb rising obesity.  In fact last month Denmark became the first Western European country to introduce a fat tax. It’s saturated fat tax will add about 26p to the cost of a small packet of butter and 10p to a burger.  I wonder to change an old phrase is this maybe shutting the gate after the pig has bolted!

We are always excited at the new ways people come up with to tackle the plastic floating in the ocean mainly to give us all a good laugh! And last week is no exception we are still rolling around the floors at this headline from The Observer 8/8/10 by Cian O’Luanaigh

‘Dutch conservationists have come up with an ambitious plan to rid the pacific ocean of some of its lethal plastic flotsam - turn it into a floating home for 500,000 people’.

Wow! according to an article in The Sunday Times 5/9/10 by Lois Rogers ‘JUNK food could be as addictive in humans as heroin or cocaine. Chemical processes triggered by the high quantities of fat, sugar and slat hidden in burgers and milkshakes give people the same cravings as do hard drugs, tobacco or alcohol .. scientists have found’.
